1.What This Covers
Cookies are small files that a website asks your browser to store. This policy covers the cookies and similar browser storage used on lynxtrades.com and in the LynxTrades application (together, the "Service"), and should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal information more generally.
We group them into three categories: essential, analytics and advertising. Only the essential category is required for the Service to work. The other two are optional, and Section 5 explains how to turn them on or off at any time.
2.Essential
Essential cookies are necessary for the Service to function and cannot be switched off. They keep you signed in as you move between pages, remember the preferences you have chosen, hold a copy of your own data in your browser so that pages load quickly, and record the cookie choices you make so that we can apply them on your next visit.
Most of these last only for as long as you remain signed in. Your cookie choices are kept for twelve months, after which we will ask again. If you block essential cookies through your browser you will be signed out, and parts of the Service will not work.
3.Analytics
Analytics cookies help us understand how the Service is used: how many people visit, which pages they read, how many go on to create an account, and which link, search result or advertisement brought them to us. We use this to decide what to improve and where our marketing is worth spending.
The information collected is used only by us. It is never sold, and it is never shared with another website or advertising network. It contains nothing that identifies you personally and nothing about your trading or journal. These cookies are kept for up to 180 days. Turning this category off removes them and stops any further information being collected.
4.Advertising
We advertise on Reddit. Advertising cookies let us establish that a visit which began with one of our advertisements went on to result in an account being created, which is how we judge whether a campaign is worth continuing.
Nothing reported to the advertising platform identifies you. We never share your name, your email address, your payment details or anything recorded in your journal, and visitors who did not arrive from one of our advertisements are never reported at all. Where an advertising cookie is set, it is kept for up to 90 days. Turning this category off stops both the cookie and the reporting.
5.Your Choices
- Cookie banner: shown on your first visit. In the EU, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, optional cookies are not used until you accept them. Elsewhere they are on by default, the banner says so, and you can switch them off at any time.
- Changing your choices: use the button below, "Cookie settings" in the site footer, or "Privacy choices" in Settings → Support. A change takes effect immediately and applies to every later visit from the same browser.
- Browser signals: we honour Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. Where either is turned on, both optional categories stay off, no banner is shown, and the signal cannot be overridden by an earlier acceptance.
- Browser settings: most browsers can block or delete cookies for a site, and clearing them will also clear the choices recorded here.
6.Other Companies
Some parts of the Service hand you over to another company, whose own cookie and privacy policies then apply: Stripe for checkout and billing, and your broker or its connection provider when you link an account. YouTube videos added to your notes are loaded in privacy-enhanced mode. We do not run any other advertising or analytics service on the site.
7.Changes and Contact
We will update this policy if our use of cookies changes, and where a new purpose requires your agreement we will ask for it rather than rely on a choice you made about something else. Questions about this policy can be sent through the contact form, or via Settings → Support if you have an account.
